This Privacy Policy describes how VisionFocus (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles your information when you use our Chrome extension.

Information We Collect

VisionFocus is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal information necessary to provide the service:

Local Data Storage

All of your settings, blocked websites, timers, and vision statements are stored locally on your device using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API. This data includes:

  • Blocked website URLs
  • Timer settings and preferences
  • Daily vision statements
  • Extension configuration settings

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any external servers.

Payment Information

If you purchase VisionFocus Premium:

  • Payment processing is handled by Stripe through ExtensionPay
  • We do not store or have access to your credit card information
  • Stripe’s privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled: https://stripe.com/privacy
  • We only receive a confirmation that your payment was successful

Usage Analytics

VisionFocus does not use any analytics services such as Google Analytics or similar tracking tools. We do not collect usage statistics, browsing behavior, or any telemetry data.

How We Use Your Information

Since all data is stored locally:

  • We cannot access your blocked websites list
  • We cannot see your vision statements
  • We cannot track your browsing behavior
  • We do not share any data with third parties (because we don’t collect any)

Data Security

Your data is protected by Chrome’s built-in security mechanisms:

  • All local storage is sandboxed within Chrome’s extension system
  • No data transmission means no risk of interception
  • Your data is as secure as your Chrome browser profile

Third-Party Services

ExtensionPay (Stripe)

For Premium subscriptions, we use ExtensionPay, which integrates with Stripe for payment processing. When you make a payment:

  • Stripe collects and processes your payment information
  • ExtensionPay verifies your subscription status
  • We receive only a confirmation of successful payment

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

  • Access: All your data is visible in the extension settings
  • Deletion: Uninstalling the extension removes all local data
  • Export: You can manually copy your settings at any time
  • Modification: You can edit or delete any stored data through the extension interface

Children’s Privacy

VisionFocus is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by:

  • Updating the “Last Updated” date
  • Displaying a notice in the extension (for significant changes)
